‎Popular entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejika, widely known as B-Lord, visited the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Ibuzo, to propose collaboration on electric transport initiatives.

Blord is an indigene of Umuji, Ebenebe in Awka North Local Government Area, he pledged support for sustainable mobility across the state. He also expressed commitment to partnering with the Anambra State Government to provide affordable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly transportation for residents.

‎During the meeting, he proposed deploying electric buses on selected routes, beginning with a pilot scheme of five buses designed to demonstrate efficiency, affordability, reliability, and compliance with modern public transportation standards.

‎The transport entrepreneur also pledged to develop, at no cost, a dedicated mobile application that will enable commuters to track buses, access schedules, purchase electronic tickets, and enjoy seamless cashless services.

‎The Commissioner disclosed that government is developing smart bus stops equipped with passenger shelters, seating, surveillance cameras, digital displays, and real-time arrival information to enhance commuter convenience, safety, and confidence.

‎B-Lord explained that the proposed buses would be sourced from reputable manufacturers in China. Each unit can travel approximately 300 kilometres per charge and requires significantly lower maintenance than conventional fuel-powered vehicles.

‎Addressing concerns over battery durability, he stated that electric vehicle batteries have a minimum lifespan of eight years and are replaceable, making electric transportation economically sustainable and environmentally responsible.
‎
‎The meeting also explored additional revenue opportunities through branded buses, sponsored smart bus stops, and commercial advertising, alongside solar-powered charging stations to support uninterrupted operations and reduce dependence on the national grid.

‎Both parties expressed optimism that the proposed public-private partnership would reduce transportation costs, improve commuter experience, attract investment, create employment, and position Anambra as Nigeria’s leader in smart, sustainable urban mobility.
