A student Hostel has collapsed late Sunday night in Oko, Anambra State.
The building, which is said to be a multi-storey hostel, came down while students were inside. Some people are feared to be trapped under the rubble.
People living nearby said they heard a very loud noise before the building collapsed. The sound attracted many residents and students, who rushed to the area to see what had happened.
One eyewitness said they heard a loud bang, and within moments people started shouting for help as the building fell.
Videos and pictures shared online show a large crowd at the scene. Rescue workers, security officials, and volunteers are working together to remove the debris and search for anyone who may still be trapped.
At the time of this report, officials have not confirmed how many people were inside the building, how many were injured, or if there were any deaths. The cause of the collapse is also yet to be announced.
