MONSTER: THE LIZZIE BORDEN STORY officially arrives September 17 on Netflix

MONSTER: THE LIZZIE BORDEN STORY officially arrives September 17 on Netflix, taking Ryan Murphy’s true crime anthology back to one of America’s most infamous unsolved murders and giving the series its first female “Monster.”
Ella Beatty stars as Lizzie Borden, who was accused of murdering her father Andrew and stepmother Abby with an axe in their Massachusetts home in 1892. Lizzie was ultimately acquitted, no one else was ever charged, and the brutal double murder remains officially unsolved more than 130 years later.
The eight episode season is leaning heavily into gothic horror, female rage and repression, with Charlie Hunnam returning to MONSTER as Andrew Borden, Rebecca Hall as Abby, Vicky Krieps as maid Bridget Sullivan, Billie Lourd as Emma Borden and Jessica Barden as Nance O’Neill. Sarah Paulson is also joining the season as serial killer Aileen Wuornos.
Jeffrey Dahmer. The Menendez brothers. Ed Gein. Now Lizzie Borden gets her chapter. MONSTER: THE LIZZIE BORDEN STORY arrives September 17, and this 134 year old nightmare might be one of the darkest stories the Netflix anthology has touched yet.
