Flutterwave, Africa’s most valuable fintech company, has raised a Series E round at a $3.25 billion valuation following an investment from Ripple, though the exact amount was not disclosed.
Both companies will integrate RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin, into Flutterwave’s payment infrastructure, allowing users to send, hold, and convert money via stablecoins.
CEO Olugbenga Agboola said the partnership could drive a 30% jump in stablecoin volumes, calling cross-border payments “one of the most underserved and highest-growth markets globally.”
The valuation is a modest rise from $3 billion in 2022. Agboola noted the round was primary investment, adding “valuation is useful, but it should not be confused with value.”
